I have a avensis 2004 t25 and a faulty code p0430. My hesitation is only when my engine is cold but when the normal temperature is shown the hesitation disappears. Anyone?
A vehicle that hesitates while accelerating or while driving up a hill may have a weak fuel pump. Fuel injectors may become dirty over time and not be able to provide as much fuel to the cylinder as is needed. Dirty fuel injectors may cause the engine to run lean which will in turn, cause hesitation when accelerating.
When there is engine hesitation when you accelerate, this means that it cannot generate enough power to move the vehicle. This can happen when you're idling, when there are cold temperatures outside, or when you're carrying a heavy load.
Hesitation is when your engine misfires, stumbles or lacks power when you accelerate or step on the throttle. The problem often means the air/fuel mixture is not being properly enriched or is going lean, or the ignition system is weak and is misfiring when the engine comes under load or the air/fuel mixture goes lean.
Hook the pressure gauge to the fuel pump test fitting.
Locate your fuel pump test point, which is usually near the fuel injectors, and locate the point at which the pump hooks up with the filter injector rail. There should be a separation joint or a test port, where the pressure gauge attaches.
Oil gets a lot thicker in cold weather. The chemical reactions inside of batteries take place more slowly when the battery is cold, so the battery produces fewer electrons. The starter motor therefore has less energy to work with when it tries to start the engine, and this causes the engine to crank slowly.
