just the smaller bolts?

Just a quick question guys for the old van (which had more rust) did you use the paint markers on all rusted spots, or just the smaller bolts?

Just sand out the rust with a sanding pen and apply a little touch up paint over the rust spot. If you want it to look as flawless as possible just build the layers of touch up paint up until they are above the original paint and then wet sand it down smooth and flush with the original paint.

Dent repairs are one thing, rust repair is another. If your car is suffering from rust holes, it's probably not worth doing much cosmetic repair. ... For this reason you can be looking at serious repair costs when repairing rust.

Not only does it look bad, but as the rust spreads underneath the paint it can cause significant damage to your vehicle's body panels and frame. To keep you driving the car you enjoy, collision repair shops can expertly fix that unsightly rust without draining your bank account.

Most paints will prevent oxygen and water to come into contact with the metal. Usually, rust under paint will allow the paint to break off. Some paints, like Rust-Oleum, can be applied over rust, but most cannot.
