Take an old ring spanner and place it over the broken bolt. Use an arc welder to weld it on and cool it with CRC. The bolt being hot will be penetrated by the spray. Carefully unscrew.

Grip the extractor bit firmly with a T-handle or locking pliers. Place the extractor bit into the pilot hole in the damaged screw. Using a hammer, tap the extractor firmly into the pilot hole. Apply downward pressure on the extractor while turning it counterclockwise to remove the damaged screw.

hit it hard with a rubber mallet. mine was rusted on also and i just hit it pretty hard with a wrench. i'd either put a block of wood between a hammer and the pulley or use a rubber mallet.

Simply place the rubber band over the screw head and push your drill or screwdriver into the rubber band while you remove the screw. That's all there is to it. The rubber band fills the gaps in the screw's head and grips the drill bit or screwdriver blade.
